Board of Directors

Robert Shen - Board Chair
Robert Shen brings 25 years of experience in the electronics industry to Array Networks, 15 of which in executive roles. His prior experience includes: CTO of Broadband Communications; General Manager of Ethernet business for Lucent Microelectronics; Founder and CEO of Enable Semiconductor; and President of 8x8 Inc. He is currently Managing Director for H&Q Asia Pacific. Mr. Shen received a BA from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan, an MA from Marquette University, and a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University, all in Electrical Engineering.


Michael Zhao - President & CEO
Michael Zhao brings to Array Networks more than 20 years worth of experience in executive roles at Internet infrastructure and systems integration companies. Most recently, Michael was founder and COO of AsiaInfo – a $500M systems integration company he led to a Nasdaq IPO. He is considered a major industry leader throughout Asia and holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.


George Chen - Director
George Chen is Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Advisor of H&Q Asia Pacific, based in the firm's Palo Alto as well as Greater China offices. Prior to H&Q Asia Pacific, Mr. Chen was a co-founder of ANDA Networks from 1998 to 2001. Previous positions included Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Cortelco Telecommunications, ITT Corp. from 1995 to 1996, and Vice President of Network Business Division at ALCATEL N.V. Mr. Chen has a BA in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University, and both a MS in Computer Sciences and an MBA from the University of Santa Clara.


William P. Fuller - Director
William P. Fuller is currently President Emeritus of The Asia Foundation, having served as its president for 15 years. Prior to joining The Asia Foundation, Dr. Fuller was with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), first as Director and then as Deputy Assistant Administrator. He has also held advisory roles with the Ford Foundation in Asia, the World Bank in Paris and UNICEF in Beirut, Cairo, and New York. He is active in many business and community organizations and currently serves on the boards of the Bank of the Orient in San Francisco and Orient First in Hong Kong. Bill holds BA and MA degrees in political science from Stanford, a Ph.D. from Stanford University's International Development Education Center, and an MBA from Harvard University.


Andy Wang - Director
Dr. Wang is currently Chairman of Phalanx Biotech Group and AnDevice, and serves on the board of directors for Precision Silicon, Interwave Corporation, Oridus Corporation and Omnivision Technology. Previously, Dr. Wang served on the Board of Directors for Taiwan Mask Corporation, a company he helped to go public, and Verplex Corporation, an EDA company that was acquired by Cadence in 2003. Dr. Wang also served as Chairman and CEO of Mobile Telesystems, a satellite telephone manufacturer, and before that as President and CEO of Optical Microwave Network, a microwave component maker. Dr. Wang also founded Taiwan Aerospace Corporation, where he served as executive director. As chairman of the Industrial Technology Investment Corporation in Taiwan, Dr. Wang completed the master plan of HDTV for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, which became the guideline for the future government R&D funding and related areas. Dr. Wang holds BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Taiwan University, University of California at Berkeley, and Stanford University, respectively.
